Contour

Pitch-tracking synthesizer — macOS — AU / VST3 / CLAP

Play a synthesizer with your own sound.

Contour listens to your voice or horn and tracks the shape of the performance — pitch, breath, articulation, vibrato. No MIDI. No quantizing. A synth voice that moves the way you do.

The signal path

A neural pitch tracker and a DSP refinement stage read the input at 125 frames per second. Envelope, transient, brightness, noisiness, and vibrato ride along as continuous controls. A subtractive synth renders the result, live.

The instrument

One window: the synth panel that shapes the sound, and the pitch trace and spectrogram that show what the tracker is hearing.

Contour's full plugin window: the synth control panel on top, the pitch trace and spectrogram beneath it, idle with no input signal

Before / after

Sax solo — Warm Blend

Listen for the phrase's vibrato and swells carrying straight into the synth's pitch and volume.
